MEHDI ANVARIAN

I started taking pictures in my early teens with my first camera, a Canon AT-1 which I received as a birthday present from my father. I have been shooting pictures as a hobby since.

  • CAMERAS

I use different film and digital cameras with different formats that I collect. The collection includes Canon AE-1, Yashica fx-3 2000, Aries Viscount, Zenza Bronica SQ-A, Hasselblad 500-C, Yashica Mat EM, Mamiya RB67, Sony a7III, and Fujifilm X100F.

  • FILM

I use 400 ISO films, mostly Kodak TMAX and Ilford HP-5. All the images captured are handheld with various speeds and lenses.

  • ARCHITECTURAL

Throughout the years, I have captured many man-made constructions — buildings, houses, castles, and bridges — shot from different perspectives. Looking for the right composition using repetition, pattern, light, and shadow.

  • CANDID MOMENTS

Traveling around I typically shoot architecture, textures and landscapes but from time to time I am able to capture candid moments in people’s lives, none of the images have been staged.
